Coffee freshness tips: how to preserve ground coffee
Ground coffee is a very delicate product, but if you don't have a grinder (and therefore you are buying 250g bags of ground coffee) there are a few tips that can help you to preserve its freshness.

The worst enemies of ground coffee are air, heat, humidity and light, that's why it is a good idea to keep it in a air tight container (better if made of plastic, ceramic or glass) to store in a cool and dark place. The fridge could be OK, but the risk is for the coffee to absorb some of the odours of other food if the container is not perfectly sealed. Much better the freezer, even because the coffee could be used straight away in your coffee machine without defrosting it.

It's very important to perfectly clean the tin containing the coffee before filling it with a new batch, removing the oil and any trace of humidity. If you wash it, let it dry carefully and completely before using it again.
